About me
Hello, and welcome to my website! My name is Molly McGrane and I am a passionate artist for 2D animation and Illustration. I am aiming to peruse working in animation as a full time job and I am currently working as an Etsy shop owner, freelance Background Artist for 2D animation, and caregiver for an animal rescue.
I absolutely love the natural world and all its inhabitants. If I am not drawing I am most likely talking to my bird, taking a walk with my dog/bird, or preforming maintenance on my fish tank, or climbing a mountain!
My Story
Growing up in Palmdale California I had plenty of long drives as a child to day dream and draw. From a young age I had a passion for creating and drawing (especially the natural world around me). Having been fascinated with digital art since I was a pre teen, I knew I wanted to pursue digital art as a career at a very young age. In high school I was a member of the Knight High School digital design and engineering academy within my high school practicing photoshop, Maya, and Z brush.
I graduated with my Bachelors of Fine Arts in Animation/ Illustration from California State University in May of 2019 with the amazing experience of directing a short film as my senior project. I fell in love with animation and how much that went into the process while I was making my film. My film "coop'd" can be found on my projects page.

In December of 2019 I was selected into a concept art internship within the original studio that created the hit cartoon Cocomelon! I learned many lessons there, but most importantly I learned how adaptable and team oriented I could be. During my time there they were making the unprecedented switch from youtube to various streaming services as well as creating the typical videos their audience expected.

I enjoyed concept art for 3D animation, however I knew deep down that 2D animation had my heart. So when offered a opportunity to draw backgrounds for Freelance projects with Trilllina Mai in October 2020 I was delighted to take the offer. since then we have been busy with multiple projects and even competed in the Korean 17th independent animated film festival's relay animation competition.
